I'm on a deadline for a freelance assignment, and it's probably the largest project I worked on yet. I can't really say much about it right now, but I'll be sure to let you know when it's published. I'm looking forward to see it completed, so that I can work on personal art. I started a picture for the dreams contest, but run out of time. I'm taking up one, and It will be auctioned off to the highest bidder and 100% of the proceeds will go to the charity of the winner's choice(*).

AWA has been long past, so I figured I should change the message in this journal. The convention itself could have been better, but it was great to have Em over, and I have met new cool people too . (it may lead to some changes in my life, but I'll let you know about it when/if it happens)

Talking about changes, the personal project I've been working on (children book) has been pushed back for now. I have made some connections at Gen Con, and I'm working on freelance recently. So far it has been fun yet challenging, because I'm doing things I'm not entirely familiar with. (and for projects that I'm not familiar with) I feel like it's making me grow as an artist and so far I'm proud of the results. There are also some moments of doubt and 'what have gotten myself into', but living with someone who's also an artist, and who's always able to give constructive and honest critique helps me get over those blocks.

As for personal art - I haven't been able to work on anything new since AWA. However since the convention was not overly eventful, I started a watercolor painting. I will be at AWA this year hanging out with and in the artist alley and selling prints I'm excited because they are two of my favorite people, and I don't often get to have them both in one place! If you'll be at this convention, please stop by and say hi! Pete's table is 46, mine 47 and Emily's 48!

I think that a lot of prints that I have no longer represent my current work. That means I'll be trying to sell out of them and then never print them again. Therefore the prices for old stock will be much less than what I normally charge, and then I'll follow up with DA print clearance sale.

So since both of the friend art sales are over I figured I should change my journal. They both seem to have reached their goals, so great thanks to everyone who helped out !

This upcoming weekend is Dragon Con, and as per usual I'm finishing things last minute. (Last year it was with watercolors, this year acrylics) I found that working with this medium has it's ups and downs. (though I think the downs are partly related to the choice of surface - I should try using them on something smoother sometime rather than canvas) The up side is that they are fairly fast to work with, and that I actually somewhat remember how to use them.

So is anybody going to be there at this convention? I'm going to have a panel in the art show, some prints in the print shop, and I will probably be running around the convention with my husband =One-Vox and some friends. It should be fun!

Two of my friends have an art sale, and since I'm unable to help them by buying things from them, I thought I'd link to their galleries.
